Global temperature anomaly, mapped every day
How warm or cold the air at the surface is running against the 1991–2020 normal, everywhere on Earth, from three reanalyses: the Japan Meteorological Agency's JRA-55 and JRA-3Q, and ECMWF's ERA5. Running windows from the last day to the year to date, a map for every month back to 1940, and the long daily record.

2-meter air temperature from the reanalysis, four times a day, differenced from the same reanalysis's 1991–2020 climatology. Each map prints the global-mean temperature and anomaly, and the means for the hemispheres, the tropics, the Arctic and Antarctic, underneath it.
JRA-55 reached end of life on 31 January 2024. JRA-3Q is spliced onto the end of it from 1 January 2024; the difference between the two is small (about 0.05 °C in the global mean). The running windows and the time series are that spliced record.
ERA5 is ECMWF's IFS Cycle 41r2 and becomes available about five days behind real time.
